How the HBCU kidz vision began...there we were sitting in the fan
stands...two HBCU alumni parents proudly watching our 3 year old
HBCU baby enjoying herself thoroughly in the crowd, cheering on the
team, and wanting to wear the school logo just like mommy and
daddy. So she proudly wore a too-big college sweatshirt because the
vendors did not carry kid sizes to fit her! Mommy and Daddy vowed to
themselves and to her that next year she would have her own sized
gear to wear to each and every game! What better gift could we look
forward to giving our future generation other than the unique gift of
purpose, inspiration, education and FUN!

10% of each sale goes back to the HBCU Community. We award $100
Educational Savings Bonds that inspire future HBCU students of tomorrow and
contribute back to the respective institutions represented in our sales.
Our gifts make wonderful keepsakes for your nieces, nephews, cousins and

We only create and stock a very limited quantity of our licensed designs so they
will increase in value as they become vintage apparel.

growing share of black Americans who go on to earn Ph.D.’s in
science and engineering
Study shares the fact that the performance of historically black
colleges and universities in producing black doctorate recipients is
all the more noteworthy because the institutions receive
“disproportionately fewer dollars [in federal research support] than
comparable institutions do.”

Experts discuss future of black colleges at ECSU
Carolyn Mbajekwe, ECSU assistant professor of history, noted that
HBCUs have a past that is riddled with irony. She said the
institutions were founded to preserve racial segregation but served
to undermine it through the social activism of university leaders.
"The black college served as the nexus of progressive political
activism for the early 20th century," she said, noting the civil rights
work of former Morehouse College President Benjamin Mays.
Mbajekwe also said black institutions have been trend-setters.
