"We are trying to break the trend of having a run of the mill school t-shirt sale. We are doing a fundraiser with a purpose. Selling the
educational unity gear is a fundraising project on one hand, but it’s other purpose will be achieved at the same time. Yes, at the end of
the project we can buy more school supplies, but at the same time we are doing something positive for the emotional and inspirational
needs of our children and their families." She holds up one of the tiny t-shirts and accompanying books as she explains, "These items
are something that the kids can look back on as they look forward to one day going to college. They will know that there is hope. They
can now be asked what school do they want to attend one day and this fundraising book,
"The ABCs of HBCUs" can give them some answers from which they can choose!"
